Career Pathfinding

The critical first step in figuring out what you want to do next, so you can get out of career purgatory.

There are multiple stages to career pivots or job changes.

Some examples might be: reaching out to your network, updating your LinkedIn profile, applying to jobs, talking to your boss, quitting, asking for referrals and introductions, going through the interview process, etc.

But there's a critical step that needs to happen before any of that, especially if you're unsure what you want to do next.

I’m talking about the research and brainstorming phase.

This is the part that gives you the necessary data to reflect, analyze and imagine what you want to do next.

You can't effectively launch a product without the appropriate market research.

Just like you can't make confident career decisions without a rock-solid understanding of what you're looking for, what you're good at, and what you enjoy.

Career Pathfinding is designed to meet you at this critical preliminary stage and facilitate a deeper level of self-understanding and awareness, so that you can make informed, intentional decisions about the next steps in your work.

Career Pathfinding will help you make your next moves with intention, especially if you…

  • Evolved out of a role and feel bored and uninspired.

  • Struggled to find your place as a generalist in a world that’s increasingly specialized.

  • Made a name for yourself at something you’re good at, but leaves you burnt out.

  • Are scared to pivot yet again after a few pivots already.

  • Are coming back to work after a time away and unsure what direction to head that won’t bore you to tears.

Get more specific about the type of work you want to do.

In Career Pathfinding, we deep-dive into the 4 pillars of career satisfaction: your strengths, values, skills and interests

  1. Learn your strengths - so you can leverage your natural talents and set clear priorities for the type of work you want to pursue

  2. Clarify your values - so you can confidently make informed decisions aligned to your principles.

  3. Assess your skills - to identify your areas of expertise and how you prefer to spend your time.

  4. Examine your personality-based interests - to gain insight into your intrinsic motivators and guide your next career moves.

Structure and process:

Career Pathfinding is a 5-session partnership that happens over the course of 6-8 weeks.

It begins with your YouMap® profile, an award-winning holistic assessment that measures the four pillars of career satisfaction - your strengths, values, skills and personality-based interests.

  • Session 1 - Strengths

  • Session 2 - Values

  • Session 3 - Skills

  • Session 4 - Personality Based Interests

  • Session 5 - Integration and Action Plan

You’ll emerge with a robust understanding of the type of work you love and want to pursue next and the language to be able to describe it to other people.

*If it’s not clear already, it’s important to state outright that this is not a job searching or hiring service.* This is what you do before you apply to make sure you’re headed in the right direction. If you are looking to get hired quickly, or in a time crunch to make a certain salary, this is not the right fit.

You’re a great fit for this if you’re:

CREATIVE

You are curious, open and willing to explore new ways of doing things.

COLLABORATIVE

You like to volley ideas and brainstorm. You’d love a co-creative partner, not a dictator.

ADAPTABLE

You can go with the flow and take things as they come.

Testimonials

I had been struggling to figure out what do with my professional life and career direction. Now, I’m more equipped at understanding myself: my strengths, skills, personality and values. I notice that I continue to evolve and become even more aware of what I’m looking for from work, jobs, professions and a career. I’m a deeper thinker and more insightful of where and how I fit within the working world now.
